She is finally waking up.
The scales of sleep are falling from her eyes-
A more true blue than ever before;
For there is fire inside them.
She is finally out of bed.
The ache is gone from her dormant limbs-
And a bracelet jangles at her ankle;
For she is moving.
She is finally outdoors.
The hunch is gone from her shoulders;
Her face is tilted to the sun;
She is gazing ahead.
She is finally feeling the breeze on her neck.
Blood is rushing around in her chest-
Flowing faster than yesterday;
For others affect her.
She is finally standing still.
The heavy blackness has fallen in a sheet around her toes
And all is silent,
For it is time to be brave.
The scales of sleep are falling from her eyes-
A more true blue than ever before;
For there is fire inside them.
She is finally out of bed.
The ache is gone from her dormant limbs-
And a bracelet jangles at her ankle;
For she is moving.
She is finally outdoors.
The hunch is gone from her shoulders;
Her face is tilted to the sun;
She is gazing ahead.
She is finally feeling the breeze on her neck.
Blood is rushing around in her chest-
Flowing faster than yesterday;
For others affect her.
She is finally standing still.
The heavy blackness has fallen in a sheet around her toes
And all is silent,
For it is time to be brave.
